Coots have now established themselves on the pond. In typical Coot fashion they spend a good part of their time chasing anything that comes near their nest site, sometimes it would seem they go out of their way to just cause trouble. Even the resident Heron is not immune to the attention of the Coots, he simply takes himself off and sits in one of the neighbours gardens until things settle down.
