Red Deer - Cervus elaphus
Canon 600mm f5 for 1/2500th @ iso400
A clash of antlers, two evenly sized stags come together. The stag on the right is defending his hareem and the stag on the left is looking to take over the hinds. A period of roaring between the two stags, followed up by parallel walking, where stags weigh up each others size and condition, this did not resolve the dispute and so the stags came together, a fight lasting a good few minutes with the stag on the left eventually prevailing and retaining his hareem.
A short video of Red Deer stags roaring can be seen here.
